Street BMX Tricks – Medium
Double peg grind
Both pegs grind across a surface. This trick is done usually on handrails and on ramp coping. When you’re grinding, you need to lean over the railing to balance yourself.
Smith grind
Hop up onto a surface. Land on your back wheel. Bring your front peg down onto the edge of the surface and grind across it. This is an awkward position to grind in if you aren’t used to it. It may sound impossible to slide oen of these but once you start doing them they’re as easy as feebles.
Icepick
An icepick is stalling on a surface with your back peg. Bunnyhop up on a wall and land on your rear peg. Stall there for a second, and then hop back down. Don’t stall too long, because that will make it harder to hop back down. At first it may be hard to jump back down. Lean and hop away as hard as you can.
Nosepick
To do a nosepick, bunnyhop and land on your front wheel on a curb or bench or any other raised surface. Land with your front brake on. Balance there on your front wheel for a second or so. Then do a small front wheel hop off of the curb. You can do this trick by jumping off a hill or a ramp, nosepick a wall, and then jump back into the ramp or hill. There are many variations of this trick like a nose-pick to tailwhip or a manual to nosepick. There are countless things you can do with it.
Front Manual
bunny hop up onto a curb or something, and land on your front wheel. Keep enough weight over the wheel to keep you up but not too much that you’re going to flip over the bars.
Toothpick
Instead of stalling on the rear peg, stall on the front peg. Do this trick like a nosepick, but land on the front peg instead of the front wheel.
Icepick grind
Get a little speed and balance. These grinds are usually short, because they are hard to do for long distances. Hop up onto a railing and slide down it on your back peg.
