They’ll let anyone march in this parade…
I went to the St patrick’s day parade on Bank Street this past weekend and was pleasantly entertained by not only some pretty interesting bicycle contraptions, but also the information that most of the galactic empire claims some sort of connection with Ireland… Apparently the dark lord of the sith dons differently coloured capes for different holidays… The parade wasn’t n...

BMX Freestyle

BMX Freestyle riding is composed of several different types of tricks that you can do on any BMX or 20 inch bike, but most forms of BMX Freestyle are easier to perform with a special bicycle designed for that type.

BMX Flatlanding is a form of BMX Freestyle riding that does not involve ramps or dirt. It is performed mainly on streets and in parking lots; any place with a hard flat surface, and involves tricks like standing on the tires and spinning the bike around you, and more. To BMX Flatland, you need a bike with a gyro or rotor on it, and front and back pegs.

Another form of BMX Freestyle riding is BMX Vert. BMX Vert riding is usually done on a half- or quarter-pipe, and consists of tricks in the air such as flips and spins. Related to the BMX Vert are mini ramps and dirt jumps. A mini ramp is basically a small quarter-pipe ramp, and those kind of tricks include no-footers, bar spins, and more. BMX Dirt jumping is pretty much the same, but with a dirt jump, and the ground is somewhat more forgiving than asphalt. Also, BMX Dirt jumping usually consists of a launch ramp and a landing ramp.

BMX Street Riding is another form of BMX Freestyle Riding. It mostly involves just riding along a street grinding any poles or parkbenches that you come across, and hopping onto things. It can also be hitting ramps and doing aerial tricks such as backflips and no-footers.
